GCSE and A Level
Individual tuition is available for both GCSE and A Level Music preparation when either a student requires extra help with the coursework or a student would like to take up Music as an option when the school does not offer the course.
Both GCSE and A level Music involve performance, composition and listening/appraising music papers.
Violorn Music School can help students with instrumental tuition on piano or violin or help with student's singing skills and voice emission as a part of the performance part of the exam.
In regards to composition, students will be encouraged to use notation software such as Sibelius or Musescore. However, for those students who feel more comfortable with using DAW, the use of Logic Pro is also an option.
For the listening/appraising, music students will be following in detail the chosen exam board's learning material and schemes of work. This part will include indepth score analysis to develop critical listening skills. Each student will have both short and long term learning objectives included in a personalised learning plan.
