Piano Lessons

Violorn Music School offers piano lessons from the beginners to advanced players on a baby grand piano. From the first lesson they target development of the student's technique and musicianship skills.
The lessons for the youngest students follow either or both Me and My Piano method and Irina Gorin's Tales Method; after completing the program, students seamlessly transition to the core classical repertoire.

Students learn various classical repertoire which is suitable and beneficial for their development. The technical exercises include scales as well as exercises by Czerny, Hanon and Shmitt to mention few, are very often set purposefully for students to prepare them for standard classical music repertoire such as Bach's polyphonic works and Chopin's etudes.

However, apart from learning strict classical repertoire, students are also encouraged to learn to read popular music notation and there is also an emphasis put on students practical understanding of chords symbols and basics of improvisation.

Students are also encouraged to play in piano duets as well as from early age to start developing ensemble skills, by accompanying the school's violin students.

All students are also guided to take graded ABRSM or Trinity College London practical or performance exams to show off their skills and hard work.
